Adventures in Silkscreening
Dear Seattleites,
One of the places where I volunteer and teach, the Vera project, is having a fundraising/interactive art sale event next Saturday December 8th from 12 to 7pm. You can bring your own thing to silkscreen a design of your choice on it for I think $5 (we provide everything else). I will be running the early silkscreen session for those of you early risers, the rest of the day I will be helping with art sales and doing Henna tattoos . The hallways will also be filled with 30+ local artists of all disciplines offering a wide range of functional and hi-art pieces.
Come on by, tell your friends, see some art, have some fun and let us catch up as you support a non-profit organization that is providing art, music, and political activism opportunities for youngsters.
Vera’s new venue and offices are located at the Seattle Center on the corner of Warren Ave N and Republican in the old Snoqualmie Room. If you are walking on 1st, cut through the Key Arena, heading away from the team shop, going around the northeast corner of the arena itself.
Any bus to the Seattle Center will take you there. Directions by car if you must are:
Going South on I-5
EXIT 166, turn RIGHT onto Ramp towards Stewart St. / Denny Way
Keep STRAIGHT onto Stewart St
Bear RIGHT (West) onto Denny Way
Turn RIGHT (North) onto 1st Ave N
Beware though that parking is a real pain around this area.
Those of you not in Seattle, you really should be.
